Family and Pets
For this lesson, you will need to learn the verb "genki" which means "to have". To change the verb into the present tense, take off the infinitive ending "ki" and replacing it with "ti".
Now you need to learn names for family members:
Mother - Nadaxa
Father - Kuxa
Brother - Dauxa
Sister - Kricxa
Aunty - Výnxa
Uncle - Kedxa
Cousin - Pruxa
Grandmother - Grennadaxa
Grandfather - Grenkuxa
So to say "I have a sister" - Yi genti kricxan. Notice that there is no word for "a", this is because there are no indefinite articles in Hopyratian of the Holic Wood (there is one in Classic Hopyratian however, "in")
For pets, you will need to know the names for animals:
dog - honsa
cat - gatesa
bird - denusū
mouse - mausa
rat - punsū
So to say "I have a dog" - Yi genti honsan. If you have noticed, on the end of the words: "kricxan" and "honsan" there is an "n". This it to indicate the Accusative case, the direct object of the sentence. You will learn more about the Cases in Hopyratian in lesson 9. As well as this, all these nouns are Animate.
